The Cheyenne Creek Metropolitan Park and Water District was formed to provide 1 cubic feet second of water in Cheyenne Creek from April 1 to October 30th each year.

The Cheyenne Creek Metropolitan Park & Water District was begun in 1981 in order to maintain a consistent flow of water in the Cheyenne Creek from April through October. The District area follows Cheyenne Creek with the west boundary starting at the Evans Street bridge and the eastern boundary at Interstate 25.

The current mill levy is .5 mill. In 2022 the District received $5,248 in property tax revenues.

Meeting notices are posted 72 hours before the meeting at the Harlan Wolf Park at 911 W. Cheyenne Rd., Cheyenne Mt. Junior High at 1200 W. Cheyenne Rd., and the Bicycle Experience at 1601 S. Tejon St.
